The Miss Kitty Dress was made inspired by a necklace given to me by Miss Kitty. Miss Kitty was a super sweet but very fiesty little old lady that lived across the street from my house for most of my life. She lived in a little house with her Husband untill he passed away in 2020. She continued to live at home untill about a year before she passed away, when she moved in with one of her sons and his wife. They took great care of her but we did and still do greatly miss having her across the road. She was like a second grandmother to me, and right before she moved she had picked out a necklace that was hers to give to me. The day she did that I was bored and started drawing and decided I wanted to make a dress one day inspired by the necklace. She passed away about a year later and I decided that for the next Synergy I would finally make the dress in her memory.

After making the dress, with all of its handmade crochet details to mimic the necklace, I did put the dress in synergy, and watched it walkdown the runway. That summer i realized that the dress would fit my little cousin, so I got her all dressed up, did her hair and makeup, and we went down to the graveyard where Miss Kitty is burried. We took the photos on her grave, right next to her headstone. I know she would have loved the dress if she had still been around to see it.
